The Danish state classifies neighbourhoods as Ghetto Areas based on their crime, unemployment, and education rates, as well as the percentage of ‘non-Western’ residents. This legislation has resulted in the privatisation of 60% of the stigmatised neighbourhood of Mjølnerparken’s public family housing, leading to the uprooting of long-established communities, the eviction of 144 families and the subsequent privatisation of their former homes in Mjølnerparken.
