In-Place was an artist-led initiative highlighting the erosion of artist spaces in Dublin. At the same time, hundreds of properties remained empty in the city due to speculation and the lack of governmental pressure on landlords to maintain occupancy in their buildings. In-Place, working alongside activists and community members, aimed to reclaim vacant buildings for cultural use. A central goal of InPlace was the ‘reframing’ of how the public viewed vacant buildings. One of the methods to achieve this was the installation of frames on vacant buildings throughout Dublin that we deemed fit for cultural uses.
